With clear water flowing into its nearby Yocheon River from Mt. Jiri and Donhwa Dam, Namwon (also known as Chunhyanggol) has ample agricultural water, and its natural basin conditions offer a clean, fertile soil for grasshoppers and green frogs to live, thus providing the best climate for rice to grow. This allows the city to produce the finest quality, oily, tasty rice.

Choice rice strains are grown in paddy fields, thus producing tasty and mineral-rich rice with its large grains oily and glutinous. When the rice is cooked, it offers glossy, tasty grains. Also, many farmers practice environmentalfriendly rice farming and strictly control the quality for customers.

The Chunhyanggol pear is exported worldwide because it is soft, juicy, and sweet.
